01 Overview

Up on the Sammamish plateau the homes get bigger and the driveways get steeper. This is family-upgrade country: tech equity turned into a four- or five-bedroom new build in Klahanie, Trossachs or Beaver Lake, the kids zoned for the top schools, and a long private drive between the garage and the street. Redmond Movers built its flat-rate model for exactly this kind of full-house move, and we run our own trucks and uniformed crews as a licensed Washington WUTC mover with USDOT and MC authority.

Planning a move around this corner of the Eastside? Redmond movers works these streets, towers, and plateau cul-de-sacs week in and week out.

Big homes, full trips

A plateau move is rarely a one-room job. These houses have three levels, daylight basements, bonus rooms over the garage, and enough furniture to fill a 26-footer. We send a crew and truck sized to the address so it’s a single trip and a single number, not a half-load you watch the clock on.

Steep drives and the rain

The plateau’s private roads and long pitched driveways are the real challenge here. Some sit too steep or too narrow for a full truck to back up to the door, so we scout grade and turning room first and shuttle with smaller equipment when we need to. From October on, we lay floor runners and shrink-wrap upholstery against the wet, and we time the hill approaches around the rare ice morning that closes the plateau.

Moving up — or moving out

Half our Sammamish bookings are upsizing within the Eastside. The other half are families cashing the equity and leaving for a lower-cost state. We handle both:

  • Local plateau-to-Eastside moves at a flat rate, no hourly guessing
  • Long-haul to Boise, Salt Lake, Denver or Phoenix priced by home size and miles
  • The same crew loading on the plateau and unloading at the destination
  • Full-value protection options on top of the standard coverage for a big household

Local crews run $169 an hour for two movers and a truck or $229 for three; a one-bed flat-rate opens at $439 and a $135 deposit locks the date. Get my free moving quote and we’ll size the crew to the house and the driveway.

We move Sammamish

Our crews work Sammamish week in and week out, so the steep driveways, the freight-elevator windows, and the building access are second nature long before the truck rolls up. What we quote is one flat written rate — no surprise lines waiting in the fine print.

02 Why us

The name on the truck is the name on your contract

Hire Redmond Movers and the truck at your curb is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the people carrying your sofa up the daylight-basement stairs draw an Eastside paycheck from us — your move is never sold off. A broker works the other direction: they hand your job to whoever underbids that week, then drop out of the picture.

Redmond Movers
  • Our own trucks and our own full-time, background-checked movers — never day labor pulled off a job board
  • The number we write down is the number you pay — signed, held, to the dollar
  • The same crew from the first box loaded to the last box carried in
  • Household-goods authority from Washington (WUTC), USDOT/MC on the books for interstate runs, and every single job backed by full insurance
  • One Redmond office and one point of contact, from your first call to the last box down
What a broker does
  • Farms your move out to whichever outfit underbids that week
  • Lets the quote swell on move day with add-ons nobody mentioned up front
  • Puts everything you own in the hands of a crew you have never once talked to, then points them up your stairs
  • Stays fuzzy about whose policy actually pays for a dropped TV
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever finally shows up to load

What Sammamish movers ask us

Can your truck make it up a steep private drive on the plateau?
Most of the time, yes — and when it can't, we shuttle. Plenty of Sammamish homes off Trossachs and the Plateau's private roads sit at the top of a long, pitched drive. We check turning room and grade ahead of time and bring smaller equipment to ferry the load when a full-size truck would scrape or slide.
Do you handle large four- and five-bedroom Sammamish new-builds?
That's our bread and butter up here. The plateau's family homes in Klahanie, Beaver Lake and the newer developments run big — three full levels, bonus rooms, and a lot of furniture. We bring crew and truck space sized to the house so it's one trip, one flat number.
Can you move us off the plateau to a lower-cost state?
Yes. We see a lot of Sammamish families cashing equity and heading to Boise, Salt Lake or Phoenix. We're licensed for interstate with USDOT and MC authority, quote the long haul as a flat rate by home size and distance, and the same crew that loads on the plateau unloads at the new place.
